What are chips, and how are they different from points?+
Chips are your free play currency for betting in Hi-Lo — they refill daily and are worth nothing outside the game. Points are a separate thing entirely: you earn them from the daily casino challenges (e.g. "Win 5 Hi-Lo guesses"), and they add to your all-time casino point total, which feeds the leaderboard. Chips and points never convert into each other.
How is Hi-Lo provably fair?+
Before any card is dealt, the game commits to a secret server seed by showing you its SHA-256 hash. Every card is then derived from HMAC-SHA256(serverSeed, clientSeed:nonce) — deterministic, and impossible to change after you've placed a bet. Once your round ends, the server seed itself is revealed so you (or anyone) can recompute the hash and confirm it matches what was shown before you bet.
What's the house edge?+
2%, so the long-run return to player (RTP) is 98%. Every payout multiplier is calculated as (1 ÷ true probability) × 0.98 — the site's edge is baked directly into the math, not hidden fees or rigged draws — and it's floored at ×1.01 so a correct guess is always a real win.
What happens if I reload the page mid-round?+
Your current round is forfeited — the bet you placed for that round isn't saved between page loads, so refreshing counts as walking away without cashing out. Your overall chip balance itself is completely safe and persists. Cash out before you navigate away or refresh if you want to keep your pot.
